December Workout Report

I started working out and eating better way back in 2014, and for the last 4-going-on-5 years, I’ve done my best to eat less, eat better, and exercise more.

And while I’ve always done a lot of outdoor walking, working out at the gym has never really clicked with me… until recently.

A Planet Fitness recently opened in my city, and I decided that the $20 per month membership made sense, so I signed up, and started going as often as I could force myself, even if it was only for 30 minutes.

And towards the end of last month, something clicked.

I made it over the hump, and now going to the gym is just… a habit.

And it’s super cool!

I love that I can wake up in the mornings, noodle around a bit while I have my coffee, then go bang out 30-45 minutes of exercise at the gym. Not only is it good for my overall health, but there’s a real noticable improvement in my mental clarity for the rest of the day.

It’s also been a great way to catch up on podcasts. I began working from home in October, and (happily) lost a 45 minute commute to work that was my previous podcast-listening time. So that’s a benefit.

As soon as I publish this, I’m taking off for today’s workout. And even though I can feel that today’s workout may not set any records (I’ve super tired this morning), the important thing is to go.
