About Me

I’m Matt Bonney. 👋 I’m a PC/Mac Support Technician and aspiring iOS developer based in Midcoast Maine, where I live with my amazing fiancée and our adorable (if not a bit anxiety-riddled) dog, Lexie.

I am a nerd at heart. I love technology, nerd culture, and programming; this website will hopefully be my outlet for those loves. Expect unfiltered thoughts on Apple and their competitors, pop culture, iOS programming, web design, and – you’re being warned – US Politics. I would describe myself as a Moderate/Liberal Independent; read in to that as you will and set expectations accordingly.

I currently have one app available on the App Store, called Web Words. It’s a simple app for searching the web using your voice. It’s free, I’d be honored if you took a look at it.

About This Site

While I have previously hand-built websites for both personal and professional purposes using from-scratch HTML and CSS on top of the Bootstrap framework, hosting them on a traditional web host, this site was something new for me.

This site is built using Jekyll, a static site generator that lets me write posts using Markdown. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which makes deploying and versioning the site incredibly easy. The layout and styles are based on the Jekyll Clean Blog Theme, (which in turn, relies on my old standby framework, Bootstrap) modified to my needs and desires.

Code for this site was written in Sublime Text on a 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro.

How to Contact Me

Like any sane person, my website does not have comments, nor do I think I will ever have a contact form of any type. If you want to get in touch, the best method to do so is via Twitter – I’m @Bonney and always open to feedback!
